Yield: 24 cupcakes
Prepare cake mix following the directions for cupcakes. Spoon batter into muffin cups, filling about half full. Bake as directed. Prepare Jell-O as directed on package while cake is baking. Do not chill. When cupcakes have cooled, use the round end of a wooden spoon to poke holes in each cupcake. Pour Jell-O into the holes. Chill cupcakes in the refrigerator for two hours or overnight. Just before serving, ice cupcakes with whipped topping.
